fantasy
book ? in the Elfin Ship world
The hero is a man but it’s hard to not think of him as a hobbit: he -- and his fellow villagers -- fit the stereotype. He wanders off with no plan, has a few vaguely linked and unbelievable adventures then finally decides, sort of, to do something positive. At that point a whole lot of people suddenly appear, fight an out of scale battle and the hero gets the girl. For no apparent reason he now feels that he has now lost the fuzzy thinking which was his trademark up till now. The world is fun but the stumbling “plot” is annoying.
