book 33 of Discworld
Thank goodness – a Discworld book with all new characters! Sure, some of the old favourites turn up, with their well-worn roles to play. But this story of the postal system is stocked with plenty of new characters. And yes, some of the “satire” is a bit blunt and a bit heavy -- the crooked capitalist lives in Tump Tower -- but the humour and adventure are both excellent. It’s a good, self-contained story in the best sort of Discworld tradition. Interesting notes: (1) It’s in chapters; (2) Copyright Terry and Lyn Pratchett !?

I am an avowed Pratchett fan and also a philatelist so found this to be fine addition to the Discworld catalogue. While some elements are not quite as strong as some of the real classics it is more worthy than 7/10. I go for decimal subratings and so would be giving it an 8.4/10. Maybe I am bit biased but if one comes from a stamp collecting background then some of the comments about the joys of collecting hit a strong note. Recommended for any collector.
